About Griggstown Vol. Fire Company

Home / About

Welcome to our site, and thank you for your interest in our organization. We are a non-profit all volunteer fire company serving the south side of Franklin Township in Somerset County, New Jersey which along with Stations 31 – Franklin Park, and Station 41 – Little Rocky Hill, comprise the fire fighting force of Fire District #2. In addition to protecting our district, via mutual aid agreements we also provide services upon request to the surrounding towns in both mercer and middlesex county. This is particularly true of our Tanker, which is frequently called to the far reaches of mercer county.

We are always looking for new recruits, and training and certification are provided free of charge for all qualifying applicants. In addition to firefighting, we have many needs and opportunities in other areas. As a nonprofit and volunteer organization, we also have need for help with office work, grant writing, and financial and legal matters. If this peaks your interest, please check out our ‘Join GVFC’ page.

In addition to our primary service of fire protection, we also strive to take part in our neighborhood by way of public demonstrations and community days. These events take considerable effort in planning from our volunteers, and are currently not on a fixed schedule, please check back often for information on our upcoming events. If you have any suggestions for community ideas, please drop us a line on our ‘Contact GVFC’ page.
